JKBOSE to give 40% syllabus relaxation for private board exams of 10-12 classes

Amid the Covid-19 pandemic , the J&K state  board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced 40%  relaxation in attempting question papers for 10th to 12th classes for the upcoming private annual and biannual 2020-21 examinations.

This is applicable to students to Kashmir as well as Jammu division along with the students of Ladakh UT.

The notification issued by director academics JKBOSE Dr. Farooq Ahmad Peer  reads:

"The appearing  students  are required to  attempt only 60 percent marks from the question papers which shall later be treated as 100% at the time of evaluation."

The marks  of candidates who will attempt less than 60%  of the marks  shall be raised proportionately.  Note that the question paper will be  framed from the entire  syllabus prescribed for the said examination.

For subjects with no practical course , question paper will have 100 marks and students have to attempt only 60 marks to get the full score.

Please note that for subjects having theory as well as practical courses, the concession shall apply to theory part only.

For the students of class 10th,  the following shall apply:
"the question paper of main subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Urdu and Hindi shall be of 80 marks only and students are required to attempt only  56 marks during the examination."

“In every subject 20 marks shall be reserved for internal assessment as proposed in the new scheme of assessment"  as notified earlier by JKBOSE.

This may provide some relief to the students in the depressing times.
